Effective Date: July 30, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Voyager.ink collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit or interact with our website at https://voyager.ink. By using Voyager.ink, you agree to the practices outlined in this policy.
Who We Are
Voyager.ink is an online platform designed to help bloggers—especially digital nomads—create, share, and engage with content. Our website address is https://voyager.ink.
Information We Collect
When you register for an account, publish content, leave comments, upload media, or interact with others on Voyager.ink, we collect data that may include your name, email address, profile information, website URL, IP address, browser user agent string, and any data you submit through forms or account settings. We also collect technical information automatically, such as device type, operating system, and referring URLs. If you create a WordPress website through Voyager.ink, we collect additional details necessary for setup and administration.
Comments
When you leave a comment on the site, we collect the data you enter in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, which help with spam detection. An anonymized string (or hash) generated from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture may be publicly visible alongside your comment.
Media Uploads
If you upload images to the site, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may be able to download and extract location data from images you publish.
Cookies
Voyager.ink uses cookies to enhance user experience and site functionality. If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies so you won’t have to re-enter them for future comments. These cookies are stored for one year. When you visit the login page, we create a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies; this cookie is discarded when you close your browser. Upon login, cookies are set to store your login credentials and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen preference cookies last for one year. Selecting “Remember Me” will keep you logged in for two weeks. Logging out will remove the login cookies. If you edit or publish an article, a cookie will be stored in your browser that contains no personal data and expires after one day.
Embedded Content
Articles on Voyager.ink may include embedded content from external websites, such as videos, images, or articles. This embedded content behaves as if you visited the external site directly. Those websites may collect your data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the content if you have an account and are logged in to those platforms.
Who We Share Your Data With
Voyager.ink does not sell your personal data. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the email to help verify your identity. We may also share information with trusted third-party service providers who support our hosting, analytics, email, or content delivery. These providers are obligated to maintain confidentiality and data protection. If legally required, we may disclose information in response to lawful requests or legal processes.
How Long We Retain Your Data
When you leave a comment, the comment and its associated metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve follow-up comments without holding them in moderation. For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username, which cannot be changed. Administrators of Voyager.ink can also view and edit this information.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account on Voyager.ink or have left comments, you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we delete this information. However, we may retain certain data for administrative, legal, or security purposes as required by law.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be screened through an automated spam detection service. This helps protect our community and maintain site integrity.
Children’s Privacy
Voyager.ink is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete the information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or to comply with legal requirements. When updates are made, we will revise the “Effective Date” above. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
